Anything above about 250 cc is a different market from the scooters that fill Bali’s roads: fewer buyers, slower resale, and specialist servicing concentrated around Denpasar and Kerobokan. Larger imported bikes also attract more scrutiny on documents, so the BPKB and import paperwork need to be clean.

Trail bikes hold their value here because the terrain rewards them — Munduk, Amed and the tracks above Ubud are what people actually buy them for. Cruisers and big tourers move slowly on resale and are usually the better negotiation.

Check the chain and sprockets, the fork seals and the steering-head bearings before anything cosmetic. Salt and rain destroy chains in a season, and a bike sold with a stretched chain has usually been sold with everything else deferred too.
