A transient island moves a lot of good second-hand things

People arrive for a season and leave with two suitcases. That is why the Bali second-hand market is unusually good for furniture, surfboards, cameras and kitchen equipment — a lot of it is barely used and priced to be gone by a flight date.

It also means condition varies wildly for the same nominal item. Humidity, salt and sun age electronics, leather, foam and timber faster here than almost anywhere, so the year of manufacture tells you less than where the thing has been living.

How to read a listing here

Condition wording. “Like new” and “good” are seller judgements. Photographs of the worn parts are evidence.
Delivery or pickup. Both are shown on the listing. Bulky items across the island cost real money to move.
Quantity. Some listings are multiples — furniture sets, restaurant equipment, bundles. Check before you assume one.
Protected checkout. Where offered, your payment is held until you confirm the item is as described.
