Hospitality is the most seasonal employer on the island. Peak runs July to September and again over Christmas and New Year, when properties staff up and overtime is common; February and March are quiet and rosters shrink.
Service charge is the number that decides whether a package is good. It is pooled and distributed monthly, so it rises and falls with occupancy — ask what it averaged over the last six months rather than what it hit in August.
Most operators run six-day weeks on rotating shifts, including split shifts at resorts. Confirm the roster pattern, the public-holiday policy and whether duty meals and transport are provided before you weigh one offer against another.
